After 11 years living in Portland Oregon, Mark Griffith has returned to his Florida roots and now resides in Dunedin, Florida (Tampa/St.Pete area), where he is performing on a regular basis in the local area and beyond.
Mark currently plays regularly with the local Tampa Bay based band Hot Tonic, playing a mix of jazz, latin, and popular music, in addition to other gigs with familiar local artists such as Bryan Hughes, James Suggs, Alejandro Arenas, John O'Leary, and many others.
Mark is also the drummer with the Jaco Pastorius Big Band. Although the band is not actively recording or touring anymore, they do present a special concert in South Florida once every few years to honor Jaco's memory and music.
Mark has played on three albums with the band, and has toured the world playing major jazz festivals including the North Sea Jazz Festival, the Detroit Jazz Festival, and the Montreal Jazz Festival, as well as three trips to Japan to perform at the Blue Note Tokyo.
